The Nissan Frontier is a family of compact or mid-size pickups, powered by 4-cylinder or V6 engines. Critical underbody components including brake lines are tucked inside frame rails, and 4x4 models get at least 8.9 inches of ground clearance.

The Desert Runner includes 16-inch alloy wheels, Bilstein off-road shocks, unique seat cloth with embroidered Frontier logos on the front seats, fog lights and special badging. The PRO-4X model is kitted out with Bilstein high-pressure off-road shocks, skid plates, a 4-wheel limited-slip system, and tough off-road wheels and tires, plus keyless entry, cruise control, power windows and locks and a red-stitched leather interior with leather trim and white-faced gauges. Top-level crew cab PRO-4X trims also get a power driver's seat moonroof, heated front seats and a roof rack with crossbars.

The Nissan Frontier continues into 2019 as one of the best values in the compact pickup truck market. Changes for this year include a bigger 7-inch color display touchscreen for S and SV trimmed Frontiers as well as a new color, dubbed Cayenne Red. In addition, last year's Midnight Edition special has been carried over into 2019, giving buyers one more chance to order their frontier with the slick looking trim package.

The Nissan Frontier is one of the lowest-priced pickups available. Four-cylinder Frontier models are more than capable of light-duty hauling and towing, while V6 models are the way to go for those with serious towing in mind.
In any variant, the Frontier is more maneuverable and easier to park than full-size pickups, yet Crew Cab models have enough space for four adults.
